Pebbles Project’s 20th Anniversary Film Wins Best Documentary Award

On 4 December 2024, Pebbles Project will mark its 20th anniversary with the release of a special impact film titled Kindness. This documentary short film explores the profound impact of Pebbles Project. Through interviews with beneficiaries and the CEO of Pebbles Project, viewers witness stories of how a single act of kindness creates a ripple effect of positivity, proving that one person, one dream, and one heartfelt gesture can change countless lives forever...

We’re thrilled to announce that Kindness has been honored with the prestigious Best Documentary award at the 2024 Kleinkaap Short Film Festival (KSFF). The film has also been submitted to festivals worldwide.

Filming took place from 15 to 18 May, and the film was completed on the 5th of August. We are proud to have Hillebrand GORI, a company of DHL, and supporter of Pebbles Project for 19 years, as the sponsor for this special project.

Kindness was directed, produced, and written by Liesl Ahlers, a fundraiser at Pebbles Project with experience in the film industry. Liesl’s previous work includes the charity short film Daylight, which garnered 12 nominations and 8 awards, including a Silver Award at the Smiley Charity Film Festival in Leicester Square, London, in March 2024.

The film was created by a dedicated crew of six: Liesl Ahlers as Director, Producer, and Writer; Llewellyn David Duim as Director of Photography and Co-Editor; David Classen and Munashe Kasambira as Sound Recording Engineers; Kristen Morison as First Assistant Director and Co-Editor; and George Dyason as First Assistant Camera. The film score and final sound production was completed by the talented Michael Wilson-Trollip.

We hope that Kindness will raise global awareness for Pebbles Project and inspire hope worldwide.
